June 2020 ‘at home’ Residency Program I am currently participating in an arts residency for the Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network, which profiles the diversity of our regions, and the importance of the arts for creative response, resilience, recovery, memorialising and celebration.
Our regions have already gone through a lot in recent years with drought, fire and floods, and now the world is being impacted by the COVID20 global pandemic. Through these tough times and working through the arts, individuals and communities find and create moments of beauty. There is beauty and tenderness to be found in the toughest of times, environments and landscapes, in the ways people dig deep, respond, create and reimagine.
I will be sharing aspects of my artistic process through my instagram feed at: https://www.instagram.com/nicolejakins_artist/
